LeBron Listens to Barry Manilow
16-Nov-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril

So does another famous basketball player.

To get in the mood for basketball games, NBA superstar LeBron James listens to rap music. Most of the time, he says that it's Jay-Z.

But that doesn't mean he doesn't change things up once in a while.

In fact, James recently showed reporters that he has Barry Manilow on his iPod.

Here's the story about how this came about. . . .

Before facing the Denver Nuggets this past Thursday, James was asked if he, like his friend Carmelo Anthony, has Barry Manilow music on his iPod.

"I bet you I can find it on my iPod," James responded.

He fiddled around with it for a few minutes, and then confessed that he couldn't find it.

"Nope," James said. "No Brian Manilow."

The room of reporters started cracking up in laughter, and then James said, "Oh, Barry Manilow, I was talking about his cousin."

James continued to search the portable music device, and then managed to come up with Barry Manilow's "Mandy," "Copacabana" and "I Am Your Child."

"I got everything," he said. "I got all music. I'm just going to listen to Jay-Z for right now."

Sounds good, LeBron.
