Rourke seems to have his life back on track, however.
Mickey Rourke recently admitted that he was so depressed that he planned on committing suicide after killing a man who raped his ex-wife.
Rourke said that he planned on sending a note to ex-wife Carré Otis before his suicide. But then he thought better of it, and didn't go through with the murder and suicide.
"I was about to commit two mortal sins," Rourke told the New York Post. "(I planned to kill) a guy who raped Carré when she was on heroin and beat her up."
The star of upcoming movie The Wrestler, which is supposed to be absolutely fantastic, went on to say that he dropped hints of what he was about to do, to his close friend and New York priest, Father Pete Colapietro.
"(He had) a letter he'd written to Carré - a note of a conciliatory nature," said Colapietro. "I told him, 'Let's fold it up and put it behind the statue of St. Jude.'"
He then talked Rourke through his problems back in the '90s, and now Rourke's life is back on track.
