British singer M.I.A. announces pregnancy, excited about CD sales.
British musician M.I.A. has confirmed rumors that she is indeed pregnant. In her own words she said, "I'm creating a baby," to Pitchfork Media. The exciting news comes as her single, “Paper Planes,” has been a success.
When I found out I was pregnant and 'Paper Planes' was in the iTunes top 10, it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window. I've got two kids, that's what it feels like. And that's the lesson – you can't make plans."
She and her fiancé, Ben Brewer, failed to comment on the sex of the child, or when the baby is due. One thing is for certain, the couple is serious about having kids.
"I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids," said M.I.A.
The singer recently finished off a tour with a performance at the Diesel XXX party in Brooklyn. At the party, she announced that she is recording new tracks for her sequel to her 2008 album, Kayla.
For now, M.I.A. is preparing for a totally different tour – with perhaps – more on the line.
"I have to do the rounds – go see my family and show them the belly," she said.
