Emmy Fashion of the Past
19-Sep-2008
Written by:
It's Emmy time, and to celebrate this year's 60th Primetime Emmy Awards celebration, TheCelebrityCafe.com looks back on our favorite Emmy dresses from the last five years.
The 2007 Emmys saw a lot of red burning up the red carpet, but it was Katherine Heigl's Zac Posen gown, an elegant white throwback to Old Hollywood, that caught everyone's attention. Classy. Just as eye-catching in a sea of red was Olivia Wilde. The House star showed up in a nude tulle Zuhair Murad couture gown with Daniel Swarovski clutch and Mikimoto earrings.
The 2006 Awards show saw Katherine Heigl looking silky smooth in a nude silk chiffon by Escada. But the prize for Hollywood glamor went to Debra Messing. The Will & Grace star dazzled the awards show with a tiered tulle gown by Alberta Ferretti topped with $75,000 diamond earrings, a $162,000 yellow-gold and diamond cuff, and $25,000 diamond cocktail ring. Diamonds really are a girl's best friend.

The 2005 Emmys were all about Desperate Housewives, but the beautiful women of Wysteria Lane were little match for Halle Berry in a strapless blue Ungaro gown, complemented by big hoop earrings and a sleek hairstyle that was relaxed and elegant. The big winner at the 2005 Emmys was Glenn CLose in a strapless black Armani gown. Combined with her blonde hair and svelt figure, Close, 58, looked better than women half her age.
The 2004 Awards saw big-screen sex-symbol Sharon Stone, who won for her guest appearance on The Practice. Stone lived up to expectations in a ravishing spaghetti-strapped lavender gown with a peekaboo cutout and eye-catching clasp. And Nip/Tuck's Joely Richardson showed everyone she's got legs with an asymmetrical Catherine Walker gown that highlighted her best assets.
The 2003 Emmys was all about Sex and the City and Sarah Jessica Parker was pretty in pink with a cotton-candy pink Chanel that would have done Carrie Bradshaw proud. The West Wing's Allison Janney pulled off a daring look with a fuchsia pink frock that screamed hot, hot, hot!
