Paris Hilton’s Mother Not Fond of McCain Campaign

Paris Hilton’s mother doesn’t like how Obama was compared to her daughter.
John McCain’s sense of humor was not shared by Paris Hilton’s mother. McCain released an ad to mock Democrat Barack Obama with images of Hilton and Britney Spears as part of an attempt to inject humor into the presidential race. Kathy Hilton, a donor for the candidate, showed her disapproval, reported the Associated Press.
She released an article posted on the Huffington Post Web site in which she said, according to the Associated Press, “It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next president of the United States.”
AP said the ad played on Obama’s popularity by portraying him as no more than a celebrity like Hilton and Spears. The Democrat’s campaign said that the ad is proof that the Republican would rather launch negative attacks than debate the important issues, according to AP.
On Friday, McCain denied that his campaign had turned to the negative, saying, “We think it’s got a lot of humor in it, we’re having fun and enjoying it,” reported AP. Hilton’s mother went on to say of the ad that it is “a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign.” So far this year, Hilton’s mother and father have donated $4,600 to the Republican’s campaign.
