Limbaugh Renews Contract with Clear Channel

Rush Limbaugh renewed his contract, which is estimated to be worth $400 million, with Clear Channel, through 2016.
The conservative talk radio host, Rush Limbaugh, renewed his contract, which is estimated to be worth $400 million, through 2016, with Clear Channel Communications, and its subsidiary, Premiere Radio Networks, the NY Times reports.
Limbaugh’s new contract will pay him about $38 million a year for eight years, along with a $100 million signing bonus. Limbaugh’s new contract is believed to be the most expensive in radio.
Limbaugh’s program, which reaches an audience of nearly 20 million listeners, is syndicated on about 600 radio stations nationwide and the contract renewal will assure that The Rush Limbaugh Show continues for several years to come.
Limbaugh’s current contract, which was worth an estimated $285 million over a nine year period, was set to expire next year.
