Williams Denies Rumors About Feud with the Ledger Family

Michelle Williams denies the rumor that she is skipping “The Dark Knight” premiere because of a fight with the Ledger family over her daughter’s inheritance.
Michelle Williams, ex-girlfriend of the late Heath Ledger, denies rumors claiming that she is boycotting the premiere of The Dark Knight because of a rift with Ledger’s family over his will, reports eFluxMedia.
An anonymous source reportedly told the New York Post that Williams is angry at Ledger’s father for not properly providing Matilda, the daughter of Williams and Ledger, with her inheritance. “Matilda is supposed to be the beneficiary of the will, but Michelle has seen nothing from them,” the source claimed.
Mara Buxbaum, Williams’s rep released a statement on Thursday denying the presumption. She said the source’s statement was incorrect and there is no reason for Michelle to threaten to skip the premiere because of a feud with the Ledger family. “It is time to allow this family to go about their lives without this continued scrutiny and speculation,” Buxbaum said.
Ledger’s $20 million fortune is mostly in Australia, with about $145,000 in the United States, reports eFluxMedia.
Ledger’s family, including his parents and sister, will be flying from Australia to New York on July 14 to attend The Dark Knight premiere in which Ledger plays the Joker. The premiere comes six months after the 28-year-old died of a prescription drug overdose in Manhattan.
