Man Savagely Beats Toddler to Death, Gets Killed by Officer

Vicious attack results in death of innocent child
Mercury News is reporting a horrific story about a 27-year-old man who ripped a toddler out of a car seat, tossed him to the pavement and relentlessly stomped, kicked and punched him to death while bystanders witnessed the attack. Three individuals attempted to pull the attacker off of the boy, but the man merely brushed them off and continued his savage beating of the innocent child.
Chief of the area’s volunteer fire department, Dan Robinson, provided a statement to reporters saying, "In the shadows and light it looked like he had hit an animal. As we backed up again, I could see that he had blood on his arms. I could see that it was a small child." There is no known connection between the attacker and the boy and Mercury News is reporting that authorities have been attempting to contact family members of the child to no avail thus far.
Perhaps the most gut-wrenching detail about this tragedy is that deputies believe they know the name of the boy, but cannot officially confirm it through a visual identification due to the severity of his injuries. An unidentified officer asked the attacker to stop, but the man continued to beat the child with no remorse. The officer then opened fire on the 27-year-old and the man was immediately pronounced dead on the scene.
