“Frasier” star resting at home after sudden heart attack.
Kelsey Grammer, star known for his work on the hit comedies, Cheers and Frasier, was released from a Hawaiian hospital Wednesday, after recovering from a “mild heart attack,” Reuters reports in Los Angeles.
The 53-year-old Grammer suffered a heart attack on Saturday. He experienced chest pains while paddleboarding with his wife, Camille, and was later taken to the hospital.
Four days later, the star is said to be “resting comfortably” at his home on Hawaii’s Big Island.
A few weeks prior to his heart attack, the actor had gotten word that Fox had cancelled his latest television endeavor, Back to You, in which he played a pompous television anchor. The show, which lasted only one season, costarred Everybody Loves Raymond’s Patricia Heaton.
Grammer’s more successful television endeavors include his 20-year stint as Dr. Frasier Crane, first on the sitcom, Cheers, and later on its spin-off series, Frasier.
