Sugar, We’re Going Down to the Altar

Pop-punker to wed punk-popper.
In a dark, swarthy cloud of horror, two of America’s strongest pieces of evidence that punk is indeed dead (read: Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and rich heiress turned ironic punk princess Ashlee Simpson) have announced that they will be married next Saturday, May 17.
Wentz and Simpson are unsurprisingly being stingy about the details, but they have announced that “the location [of the wedding] will not be revealed until the day of the wedding but . . . it will be an hour drive from Los Angeles.”
The couple’s engagement was short, only being officially announced early last month. Simpson posted a statement on emo blog aggregator “FriendsOrEnemies.com,” letting fans know: “Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes—it means the world to us.”
Wentz, five years older than his bride-to-be, is a favorite around the Simpson household. Joe Simpson, father of Ashlee, even went so far as to say that Wentz is “a good kid.”
Some here at TheCelebrityCafe.com believe he may have exaggerated.
