Winehouse Cautioned for Assault
26-Apr-2008
Written by: Frida Hognabba

Amy Winehouse gets off with a warning when accused of assaulting two men.

Police have stated that singer Amy Winehouse has been cautioned for common assault, reveals BBC News.

The pop star was arrested Friday and spent the night at Holborn Station in London. Yahoo News reports that Winehouse was accused of an alleged assault as she supposedly attacked two men in the Chalk Farm area of north London. She is said to have head-butted one of the men and proceeded to punch the other one.

The notorious singer has, with time, become just as known for her drug abuse as her musical success.

Following this pattern, police explained that Winehouse was “in no fit state” when she arrived at the station and therefore had to spend the night locked up, BBC News states.

Winehouse’s spokesperson said, “Amy Winehouse was questioned this morning at a London police station in connection to an incident in Camden in the early hours of 23 April, 2008. She admitted to a common assault by slapping a man with an open hand and accepted a caution. Amy was fully cooperative with inquiries and apologized for the incident. There will be no further action taken.”
