“SVU” Losing 2 Cast Members

Diane Neal and Adam Beach will be leaving NBC drama “Law and Order: SVU” at the end of this season.
Law and Order: SVU is losing two of its key cast members at the end of the season.
Earlier this week, Diane Neal’s departure from the police serial was announced. According to E! Online the actress will be making her last run as Casey Novak, the special victims unit’s ADA, in the season finale that will air next month.
A representative for the show that airs on NBC stated, “Diane spent five years on SVU and was a tremendous addition to the SVU team. She is looking forward to new opportunities and she will be missed.” Neal came in to replace Stephanie March’s character after she departed from the show. While no replacement has been announced, TVGuide.com has hinted that the show’s creator, Dick Wolf, is looking for an up and comer to play the next ADA.
SVU will also be losing Adam Beach who has played a detective for the SVU squad for only a year. The actor had the option, per his contract, to stay on for another year, but seems ready to move on. He says, “I very much enjoyed my year on Law and Order: SVU. Now I'm looking forward to new adventures.”
SVU creator Dick Wolf had this to say about Beach, “Adam is a superb actor. From the first day I met him on the set of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, I was knocked out by his commitment, dedication and total immersion in the film's most crucial role. He did a terrific job this season on SVU, and I look forward to working with him again in the near future.”
SVU is in its 9th season and has kept most of its large cast through the seasons. It is one of NBC’s most popular shows.
