Roger Ebert Writes Movie Reviews Again
1-Apr-2008
Written by: Jessica Dines

Ebert will take up his love of writing movie reviews once again after enduring health complications.

According to The Associated Press, Roger Ebert plans to once again write movie reviews beginning later this month after enduring years of health problems.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic has lost his ability to speak due to complications during a surgery which took place in January.

Ebert had two surgeries on his salivary gland in 2001 followed by a surgery in 2002 to remove a malignant tumor on his thyroid gland. In 2006, Ebert had an additional surgery to remove a cancerous growth on his salivary gland.

Now cancer-free, the 65-year-old celebrity critic has expressed his excitement for his annual film festival, Ebertfest, which is to take place at the University of Illinois from April 23-27. The festival will feature 13 films chosen by Ebert.

After the festival ends, Ebert plans to resume his longtime passion for watching and reviewing movies.
