Don Imus Sued for Condemning Advertiser
25-Jan-2008
Written by:

According to USA Today, Don Imus is being sued for over $4 million by an advertiser from his former show. Flatsigned Press Inc. claims that Imus insulted the company by mocking their ads intended to advertise a book by Gerald Ford.

The book was about the Warren Commission's investigation of the late president John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. Imus allegedly called the company’s advertisements “cheesy.” He also was reported saying about the death of Ford, "Now that he's flatlined, go to flatsigned.com," reports USA Today.

Flatsigned Press Inc. stated their sales plummeted about $40,000 a day after the air of Imus’ remarks and some bookstores even refused to carry the book.

The $4 million lawsuit requests cost of damages due to breach of contract, libel and malice.

Imus was fired from CBS in 2007 due to a racial comment made about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team.
