Jennifer Garner: West Virginian of the Year
1-Jan-2008
Written by: Susie Kopecky

Actress Jennifer Garner has been dubbed the 2007 West Virginian of the Year.

What better a way to end the year than by being dubbed THE premiere person of your state? The Associated Press reports that actress Jennifer Garner will be ringing in the new year with a new award. The actress was awarded the title of West Virginian of the Year by her hometown newspaper, The Sunday Gazette-Mail. The newspaper lauded Garner for her positive work and for being such a positive representative for West Virginia. According to the Pittburgh Post-Gazette, the article applauded Garner for her "... dedication, work ethic and unique role as role model and ambassador for West Virginia." In an interview, Garner's mother backed up the claims of her daughter's love for home: "She's pretty passionate about her love of West Virginia... she just considers it home."

The actress was born in Texas, but moved to W.V. as a young child. Garner is married to fellow actor Ben Affleck, by whom she also has a young child. Their baby, Violet, was recently labeled the most adorable celebrity baby, in a poll of entertainment business savvy consumers.
