Brendan Fraser Becomes Single
31-Dec-2007
Written by: Susie Kopecky
Actor Brendan Fraser will soon be a single man.
George of the Jungle is a free man. Access Hollywood is reporting that Brendan Fraser will be single soon after the New Year. Fraser, 39, announced last week that he and his wife of nine years, Afton, would be divorcing. The couple have three children.
There is no word yet on how the custody arrangement will be worked out. Fraser's publicist said that Fraser and his soon-to-be ex still remain close friends. The reason for the divorce is unknown, but it does not appear to be turning nasty.
Fraser dominated the big-screen throughout the '90's and early 2000's, though his appearances have been quieter in the last few years. Fraser was a lead in the powerful "School Ties," while also showed his kettle as the lovable do-gooder in movies like "George of the Jungle" and "Dudley Do-Right." He's played a thawed out caveman and a clueless but genteel man in "Blast From the Past."
Fraser is known for giving many of his characters a debonair and charming take, while still equally believable as a goofball as as a Harvard scholar. More recently, Fraser starred in the action packed "The Mummy," and its sequel, "The Mummy Returns."
