Hannah Montana has a moral quandary ahead: what to do about the tickets a young viewer won for her concert?
A 6-year old girl won tickets to a sold-out Hannah Montana concert by writing an essay about her father who died in Iraq on April 17th. The problem is, he didn't. TMZ reports that the mother, Prsicilla Ceballos, appeared to encourage her little girl to write the winning, but ultimately untrue essay. The heartstring-tugging essay apparently began with the girl describing how "my daddy died in Iraq this year."
TMZ reports that when questioned by FOX about the incident, she had this to say: "We never said this was a true story... We do essays all the time. My daughter does essays at school all the time. It never did say it had to be true, but [the contest organizer] said, 'That's what we expected.'"
MSNBC reports that the scrutiny started after NBC did research, and found that the girl's father, Jonathan Menjivar, was not the one soldier who had died on April 17th. Club Libby Lu, a company behind the contest, has not yet made a decision over what to do with the tickets.
