Iceland Teen Prank Calls White House
12-Dec-2007
Written by: Susie Kopecky

A teenager in Iceland called the White House pretending to be the president of Iceland.

Prank phone calling just reached a new level. Reuters reports that a 16-year old teenager in Iceland obtained a line to the White House. He pretended to be the President of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, and even managed to book a phone call with President Bush for the Monday after the call. The conversation with Bush's secretary took place on December 1st. Soon after the boy was found out, Reuters reports that the CIA contacted Icelandic officials, who soon sent over their country's police to interview the boy. The boy, identified as Vifill Atlason, stated "They told me the CIA had called the National Commissioner of the Icelandic police and asked if the police could try and find out where I received that phone number from."
