Lil’ Wayne Expected to Appear in Court This Week

A hearing is to be held on Thursday regarding Lil’ Wayne’s failure to appear for his August court dates.
Lil’ Wayne was taken into custody right after his show Friday night at the Quest Arena in Boise, Idaho. The hip hop star was arrested last year after getting caught with marijuana and over 100 Xanax and Hydrocodone pills. After failing to show up for 2 court hearings regarding this possession charge in early August, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest. Boise Police Department Spokeswoman Lynn Hightower stated that authorities first learned about the outstanding warrant shortly before the Grammy nominee arrived.
Following his gig Friday at around 10 p.m., undercover officers took him into custody. Wayne was not released until 7 p.m. Saturday on a $10,000 bond and was unable to make it to the Gods of Hip-Hop comedy tour stop at the University of Oregon in Eugene. His Bronx-based attorney, Stacey Richmond promises that he will appear later this week in Fulton County Criminal Court.
