Star will host “Shatner’s Raw Nerve“ and quiz fellow celebs on “deep questions.“
The Biography Channel, now simply known as “Bio,” has signed Star Trek star William Shatner to host a new show for the network. The show is titled Shatner’s Raw Nerve, and it aims to distinguish itself from the plethora of celebrity talk shows by taking a fresh approach to celebrity interviews. Shatner will be chatting up other stars during the lulls in their busy schedules—that is, when they don’t have movies, albums, or some sort of promotion going on. The series promises that Shatner will “explore life’s most intriguing questions and unearth his guests’ strange and unknown stories,” E! Online reports the network as saying. Shatner’s Raw Nerve will debut in 2008, and has signed for 13 episodes.
But William Shatner won’t be parting ways with his Boston Legal costars in order to film his new show. Shatner will hold onto his role as Denny Crane on the ABC series—a wise move, as the role has already garnered the star an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Shatner’s series is not the only new addition to Bio’s lineup. The network will also debut I Survived, featuring average people who survived extraordinary experiences. And then there’s Small Medium at Large. The show follows a 4’ psychic who communes with the dead using Chinese meditation, according to E! Online.
