Mischa Barton: Fame Sucks

Barton thinks being famous is boring.
Poor Mischa Barton. Didn’t she once complain about the tough life of being too pretty? Well now she’s telling everyone that being famous is boring.
The former O.C. star wants to be known for her acting skills, and not for being celebrity magazine fodder. Barton told Elle magazine, “Fame isn’t that exciting to me. I don’t think it’s something to be fighting for. I want a career.”
She also said she did not like the fame that accompanied her stint on the hit show because “you don’t make the best of friends. You make a few mistakes when you’re that age and it took me a while to find the friends I needed, to be truly comfortable.”
The 21-year-old is currently taking a break from Hollywood, studying Shakespeare at RADA in London before returning to the big screen later this year in “Closing the Ring.”
If that’s really what Mischa wants, she should probably stop going to parties at Nicole Richie’s house and leaving in an ambulance. Then we might take her seriously as an actress.
