Gyllenhaal and Witherspoon Split

The couple splits after a short-lived romance.
Ladies everywhere rejoice! Jake Gyllenhaal is single again. People Magazine is reporting that Gyllenhaal’s ex Reese Witherspoon ended their short-lived romance because of her recent divorce from actor Ryan Phillippe. Witherspoon started dating the “Brokeback Mountain” star only months after filing for divorce from Phillippe, her husband of seven years.
According to a friend Witherspoon split with Gyllenhaal because “she just got out of a divorce and was so concerned with her family, she just didn’t have the time for him and he really demanded that.” She wanted to focus on spending more time with her kids, Ava and Deacon.
Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal remain friends and will appear on screen together in the upcoming movie “Rendition.”
