Marwood - One Mile Down the Road
- Marwood, the musical project of London born singer/songwriter Benji Rogers melds the soothing twang of country, mellow rhythms of alternative rock, and soaring pop harmonies. On “One Mile Down the Road,” Rogers’ soulful tenor rings true and rides effortlessly over comforting and engaging guitar-driven melodies

Just a year after the relative commercial success and college radio appeal of Marwood’s 2005 debut, Rogers goes solo, writing and producing a more personal and revealing album. From the first measure of rapping drums on title track “One Mile Down the Road” to the quiet acoustic reprise of “Nothing Good To Show For It,” listeners will be hooked. Rogers’ emotional vocal delivery and good ear for catchy tunes will strike a familiar chord in us all. Whether they speak of the nervous rekindling of a lost love on “Just the Same”, the desire to “Get Lucky” and run with a new carefree romance in the summer sun, or the blunt reality of being the third wheel in a painful lovers triangle on the ironic “What a Pair the Three of Us Made,” Rogers’ lyrics are honest and easily relatable. Land his instrumentals just as appealing.

The New York City based Marwood will be touring this year, hopefully bringing its infectious tunes and critically-acclaimed musical experience to a town near you.
